Voices of Survivors
Walking through these doors, I feel honoured. Honoured to have such an environment to heal in. Honoured that others shared with me. Honoured to reside in Saskatoon and have this awesome opportunity. I whole-heartedly encourage anyone to give themselves the gift of this experience. Thank you to any and everyone who are involved with the foundation, growth and maintenance of Tamara's House. It's not just a building - it is a haven.
I believe the Creator brought me to Tamara's House and blessed me and in many ways, saved my life. I think this program saves lives and gives hope to people who find it hard to find any kind of hope...
I learned that I'm worth fighting for, that people do care, and I'm not alone. I'm going to use the tools that I learned to thrive - I'm not just going to survive anymore. Tamara's House saved my life!
When I came here I hated being touched - now I give and get hugs. I'm getting to know me, getting things done. I learned that when I do things for myself,I feel so free and so positive. I'm putting everything together a piece at a time. I'm happy to be me and alive!
Tamara's House has been one of the most helpful organziations to help me put one foot in front of the other. In the end, it is me who ends up getting the power to do the healing. Tamara's House is the guide.
I'm able to look inside myself for support rather than always going to others. I know that I have the skills to take care of myself. I feel good. I feel capable. I feel like an adult.
I learned that I'm OK and that I have it in me to deal with the past - to look forward instead of always at the past.
Tamara's House provided me with a strong feeling of safety. This helped me come out of my shell, which helped me deal with some of my coping techniques. I liked the warmth and spirit of this place. I liked everything.
Tamara's House helped me not to be afraid to express myself, and opened the door to my healing journey. Thank you!
