Take Back the Night The Take Back the Night March is a public protest organized by women, for women. It serves as the means for women to unite and voice our desire to end the fear and shatter the silence surrounding sexual violence, domestic violence, rape and hate crimes affecting all genders and sexual orientations. Each year the Saskatoon Women's Community Coalition (SWCC) works to gather women, men and children together to march and rally in protext against gender based violence.
Please join Megan Monday, September 27th at Vimy Memorial at 7 pm. There will be a short presentation from the Silent Witness program with a march to follow. We invite you to come out and join us in supporting this event - look for the Tamara's House banner. For further details, please contact Megan 693-8667.

New Resources

Tamara's House has received some new books for our resource library, located in the Indigo Room by the front office. The following books have been donated:
Reclaiming Our Lives: Hope for Adult Survivors of Incest Carol Poston and Karen Lison
Reclaiming the Heart: A Handbook of Help and Hope for Survivors of Incest Mary Beth McClure
Allies in Healing: When the Person You Love Was Sexually Abused as a Child Laura Davis
I Can't Get Over It: A Handbook for Trauma Survivors Aphrodite Metsakis, Ph. D.
We are trying to reorganize this collection to make it more useful to service users, without making it too much like a formal library. Books will be loosely organized by shelf e.g. one shelf for sexual abuse issues, one for other forms of violence, one for phyical health etc. Most of these books have been donated, but we occasionally have money available to purchase resources, so if there are books you would recommend, please let us know. Books may be borrowed for a few weeks at a time, just sign them out at the front desk.
