The staff and volunteers at Tamara's House offer a wide variety of education and professional development services to the community in various formats.
Our services have been designed to be flexible so that community members can work with us in creating the educational experience that best suits their needs.
Any audience, any size ... We have experience facilitating workshops and presentations for groups of varying sizes - from 2 to 200.
30 minutes to 3 days ... Our seminars can be tailored to fit your schedule - presentation lengths vary from half an hour to multi-day seminars.
Topics tailor-made to suit your group ... Presentations and worskshops can vary from very basic information to specific subject matter selected to meet your group's educational and professional development needs.

Community EducationSupporting a Survivor of Child Sexual Abuse
Sample Workshop Formats
Survivors 101:An introduction to child sexual abuse and related issues, including a discussion of terminology, consequences, and dynamics of power and safety. Suggested time - 1 to 3 hours.
Sensitive Touch:Specifically designed for professionals whose practice involves hands-on therapies and treatments, such as massge therapy, reiki, reflexology, and chiropractic, this intensive workshop addresses issues relating to child sexual abuse and touch. Workshop participants will complete a hands-on component and final practical exam. Successful participants will receive a certificate of completion. Suggested time: 2 days.
Sensitive Practice with Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse:an in-depth exploration of child sexual abuse and related issues, with discussion of specific strategies regarding the provision of safe and sensitive care to survivors of child sexual abuse. This workshop will be tailored to address the needs of your profession and or work environment such as:
